We have come to recognise that being involved in mission overseas is as much about receiving as giving. Although actively supporting a variety of organisations and individuals around the world, we have especially close and exciting connections in Uganda
as well as with BMS World Mission
Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, well known for its natural beauty and wildlife. Through regular visits, prayer and contact we have fostered special relationships with schools, churches and individuals. Our work in Uganda includes support and fundraising for the Kiswa Community Children's Centre, Atirir Community Centre and Bible School and SchoolConnect, A UK charity helping primary schools in Kent forge links with schools in North Eastern Uganda.

BMS World Mission
We financially support the work of BMS World Mission, working in around 40 countries on four continents. BMS believes in holistic mission, an approach that stays true to the Christian call to evangelisation without neglecting the duty to take care of the physical needs of the poor.
BMS Birthday Scheme
One way in which we support BMS World Mission is through the BMS Birthday Scheme. On a church member's birthday, he/she receives a BMS birthday card from Joan Fischer, our Canterbury Baptist Church 'BMS Birthday Scheme Secretary', along with a gift envelope which the recipient can use to make a donation. If completed, the gift envelope is then sent back to Joan, and once a month, or whenever is suitable, all the donations are forwarded to BMS. If you wish to get involved, please Contact Us and let Joan have your name and birthday.
The Birthday Scheme primarily supports the health & medical work of BMS and partner organisations across the world, as detailed on the following BMS Birthday Scheme website. BMS is at the cutting edge of world mission and endeavours to alleviate suffering, improve the quality of life and to present the message of Jesus where it is currently unknown.
