Mission in

Uganda

WorldMission

Uganda

Uganda is a landlocked country in East Africa, well known  for its natural beauty and wildlife. Through regular visits, prayer and contact we have fostered special relationships with schools, churches and individuals.

Kiswa Community Children’s Centre (KCCC)

We are spearheading local Baptist Association support for Kiswa Community Children’s Centre (KCCC) in Kampala, Uganda. Serving a large urban slum, the centre set up by the local Baptist church provides schooling with two cooked meals a day, access to Child Development and Family Liaison Officers, weekly access to local medics, vocational training for older youths, home visits and regular pastoral contact for more than 200 children.

Atirir Community Centre and Bible School

In a trading centre on a mud road north of the town of Soroti in north-eastern Uganda is a community centre and bible school. Canterbury Baptist Church teams have been involved in building work and teaching at the centre, which we hope will become a key base for activities and training for the benefit the surrounding village communities.

Atirir Pastor Support

In partnership with African Pastors’ Fellowship, we support Baptist pastors and their families in rural north-eastern Uganda. Through pastor sponsorship schemes, members help Ugandan pastors access theological training and equip them and their families as they serve their local communities.

School Connect

School Connect is a UK registered charity that has grown out of our contacts in Uganda. School Connect helps Kent primary schools set up long-term partnerships with rural schools in north-eastern Uganda. Whilst providing innovative teaching resources, raising awareness and facilitating the school links, the partnerships can be a spring-board for appropriate development to help children overcome the effects of poverty and war in Uganda.
