Vision

Our Mission Statement

The Mission of Canterbury Baptist Church is to take the life changing message of Jesus Christ to all who are outside of His Church, with the goal that they become His loyal disciples.

Our Vision & Values

The Church at Antioch as described in the Bible, in the book of Acts, chapters 11 & 13, serves as our example for church and ministry, and provides us with the following vision and values:

RapidlyGrowing

Rapidly Growing: All the believers in Antioch shared their faith without inhibition and the church increased in number as people came to believe in Jesus Christ. We too are committed to spreading the gospel wherever God has placed us.

For more information on how we do this, please refer to our  Evangelism & Mission Ministry within Canterbury section and the Salvation Message.

Multi-Cultural: The city of Antioch was the first place where Jewish believers and Gentile believers worshipped together as one gathered community. We too are committed to overcoming cultural barriers and prejudice of all kinds.
For more information, please refer to our Evangelism & Mission Ministry beyond Canterbury section and see the International Students Group.

MultiCultural

TrulyGenerous

Truly Generous: The Antioch congregation revealed a generous attitude in their free responses to appeals for help. We too seek to have a generous and gracious attitude towards the needs of others.
For more information, please refer to the Church Life and  Giving sections.

Authentically Spiritual: Bible teaching, prophecy and a clear commitment to prayer were significant features of worship at Antioch. We too are committed to an authentic expression of worship in Spirit and in truth.
For more information, please refer to our Church Services, Prayer Ministry, Mens Ministry, Women’s Ministry, or  Children’s & Youth Ministry sections.

Evangelism-small

Strategically Missionary: When the Holy Spirit said ‘set apart Paul and Barnabus’ for the work to which I call them, the Antioch Church did not hesitate to do so.  We too desire to be a missionary, ‘sending’ church. Several of our members have trained for various Christian ministries and mission agencies.
Please see our church Ministries & Activities, and Training & Courses sections, as well as the UK Mission and World Mission pages.

Distinctively Christian: There was something distinctive about the quality of life enjoyed by the Christians at Antioch. We too desire to be shaped by God’s Word and Spirit into a distinctively Christian community.
