Prayer Ministry
|
 |
"It is written," [Jesus] said to them, 'My house will be called a house of prayer…’” Matthew 21:13
Prayer is communicating with God and is central both for the individual and the church’s relationship with God. Whilst many Christians are aware of the importance of praying for one another, many have had no real experience of corporate or individual prayer. We actively encourage and promote prayer in a variety of forms within the life of our church. There are many opportunities to get involved:
Organised Prayer
-
Prayers of IntercessionOrganised prayer themes for the needs of our community and for national and world affairs are a regular part of most of our Sunday services. Some previous Intercessory Prayers can be viewed here.
-
Monthly Prayer and Praise Meeting This corporate prayer meeting takes place on the second Thursday of every month at the church hall, when we gather together as a church family for prayer, praise and worship. Come and join us! See the church calendar for the date of the next meeting.
-
Week of Prayer and FastingFrom time to time we have a week of Prayer and Fasting for specific needs. More details here.
-
House GroupsHouse groups provide a safe place to learn to pray with and for other people.
If you are interested in knowing more or becoming involved in any of the above, please contact us here.

Healing On The Streets Ministry
Would you like to discover just how far the Kingdom goes when the church leaves the building? Would you like to experience the power of God show up on your streets of Canterbury with healing, signs and wonders?
The ‘Healing on the Streets’ ministry is a simple but effective way to reach out to the sick, the lost and the broken in Canterbury. We believe God is still healing people today and we want to be on the streets to offer to pray for people if they would like us to. This ministry enables us to connect with our community, powerfully expressing God's love and compassion. This creates stepping stones for people to come to know Jesus and along the way they get healed. Across Europe, many churches of different denominations are now running this model and seeing people healed and come to faith!
Members from various churches in Canterbury come together each Saturday to offer to pray for people in Canterbury High Street. Amongst the hustle and bustle of busy shoppers, walks the Prince of Peace! If you are interested in knowing more or becoming involved, please contact us here.

Prayer Ministry Team
We offer those attending our Sunday services the chance to seek prayer for a need for themselves, to pray through a concern they have for others, or simply to share in giving thanks for God's blessings to them. The church elders and members of our prayer ministry team are available to pray at the end of the Sunday service and are trained, accountable and follow the church's policy on prayer ministry. If you would appreciate receiving prayer, please click here, or if you would like to share with us an answer to prayer that you have received, please click here.

Monthly Prayer Guides
We produce a monthly Prayer Guide, so that we as one body can pray corporately for the same prayer points throughout the month. You can download the latest issue here.

Prayers In The Bible
One of the best ways to learn about prayer is to read and hear the prayers of the Bible. We can learn from the examples of prayer in the Bible why we pray. There are hundreds of prayers, both personal and public, which are included in the Scriptures for our help and instruction. And as we listen to the men and women of the Bible beseeching, praising, asking, repenting, so we can learn about the Holy Spirit, how we are to approach God, what He seeks from us in our relationship with Him, and how prayer works. Click here to view a few of the great prayers of the Bible.
