The WOW Factor

WOWFactor

We seek to be a church that is relevant to the local community - The WOW Factor is a yearly event that aims to provide great entertainment for the people of Kent.

The WOW Factor is a talent contest, based on ITV1's ‘The X-Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ shows, that seeks to provide a platform for local performers and an opportunity to share the truth of knowing Jesus Christ.

Advertised in all secondary schools in Canterbury, Faversham, Whitstable, and Herne Bay, everyone is encouraged to take part. Each act goes head to head over a four week period, performing in front of a live audience and a judging panel made up of representatives from local performing art schools. Each week, acts are eliminated from show until a winner is crowned in the final week.

The WOW Factor 2008

The WOW Factor has been running for two years now, with the most recent being in March 2008 as part of the Hope 08 Canterbury initiative. Roughly 300 people a night crammed into Canterbury Christ Church University's St Anselm’s Hall, where 24 acts battled it out for The Wow Factor crown.

The four weeks culminated in an Easter Special, at which Shane Lynch, member of the band Boyzone, shared his Christian testimony and at which local Christian artists combined to produce a high quality alternative Easter Service.
