Canterbury Baptist Church is a welcoming and thriving city-centre community representing the breadth of God’s kingdom. We seek to appoint a Student Worker. This role is ideal for a recent graduate discerning a vocation in ministry. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic person, with recent experience of student life, who is willing to learn and work alongside students and students in providing support and care. Applicants will need to have an open, calm and confident approach as well as a firm foundation in the Christian faith (being a member of a Church that is part of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland).
We work closely with Canterbury Christ Church University Chaplaincy and there will be an opportunity for applicants to serve across both mission fields with additional benefits such as free housing if they choose to do so. Since the University’s foundation, chaplaincy has played a central role in the daily life of staff and students providing spiritual guidance and pastoral care for all.
Hours: 18.5 hours per week
Contract: 1 year fixed term
Start Date: September 2019
